April lunch menus are available in the high school office.

 

Spring Break begins at 12:51 p.m.  School resumes on Tuesday, April 4th.

 

The NHS Induction Dessert Ceremony is Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m.

 

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday, April 6th from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  There is no school on Thursday.

 

The Father/Daughter Dance is Friday, April 7th.  Please stop at the daycare to purchase your tickets.

 

Premier Driving Academy will be conducting Segment I classes here April 17th – 20th, April 24th-27th, and May 1st-4th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Cost is $195.  Please contact Darlene Wagberg at 723-2743 to sign up.

Hat Day is tomorrow.  Bring a dollar and wear a hat!  All money raised goes towards Relay for Life.

The Honor Band students will be out of school today to prepare for the concert at Manistee High School.  The concert is at 7:00 p.m.

 

The Pinewood Derby competition is tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.

Bear Lake’s spaghetti bridge building team called the Italian Battalion competed Friday and Saturday at Ferris State University in Big Rapids.  There were four categories of competition: Authentic bridge, load-bearing bridge, oral presentation, and written report.  Bear Lake won 5th place in the written competition and won the Best Rookie Team.  Their bridge was able to hold the initial weight of 5 pounds but broke at 25 pounds.  Congratulations to Josh Feyers, Jenna Cross, Gloria Girlanda, Chaira Pattero, Avery Mullet, Todd Merrill, and Johnathon Wertheimer for all of their hard work.

 

The Honor Band students will be practicing all day tomorrow at Manistee High School.

The library will be closed today from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

 

A group of high school students will be leaving after school today to Ferris State University to participate in the Spaghetti Bridge Building competition tomorrow.

The elementary students will dress like their favorite rock star tomorrow.

 

Juniors and seniors will be attending a career fair at the casino today.  They will be gone from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Today is Pop in for a Good Book!  The elementary classes will be popping in to read with Mrs. Harless in the library today.  On Friday the elementary will dress like their favorite rock star.

 

The 8th grade class is visiting CTC today.  They will return at 11:45 a.m.

Bear Lake robotics had a great time this weekend.  Their robot was competitive in all 12 events, played and were even able to climb...upside down.  They ranked 17th out of 40 veteran teams going into Saturday morning but dropped to 31st after three final events. 

 

Last week was Breakfast week. We had Lucky Tray Day each morning and two grand prizewinners for the week.  The BIG Winners are.....Julie Schmidt and Melody Stover!

The Robotics Team is competing at St. Joseph today.

 

The 5th grade Quiz Bowl team competes at Onekama on Monday while the 6th grade team competes on Tuesday.
