Congratulations to the Middle School Solo and Ensemble participants.  Justin Johnson, Emma Wilson, Dylan Ide, Olivia Hejl, and Hayley May all received second division rating medals.


Thanks to all the participants in the Bear Lake Prom!  It was a wonderful evening.


Kindergarten Round up is tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in Mr. Harthun’s room.  Please see Mrs. Harless for more details.


Elementary Science Olympiad is Wednesday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Kennedy Elementary.


Big Bear Sportsman’s Club is offering a Hunting Education Course on Friday, April 24th.  Forms are available in the high school office.


The deadline for the 2-1-1 art competition is Wednesday.  Please pick up an entry form in the high school office.

Moss’ Road Rules Driver’s Training Segment I will begin on Monday, May 18th at 6:00 a.m. Sign up in the high school office.


Laker Sports


The baseball team won their first game on Saturday 5-2 over Lake Leelanau St. Marys and lost the second game to Glen Lake.


The softball team split with Marion on Saturday.  They lost the first game 3-1 and won the second game 9-8.  Rachael Makowski was 2-3 with a double and 3 RBIs and Sierra Link had a double play.


The middle school track teams host the WMD League Jamboree.  Events begin at 4:00 p.m.


The Varsity baseball team travels to MCE.  Game time is 4:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 2:00 p.m.  Athletes will be excused from class at 1:50 p.m.


The softball team travels to Big Rapids Crossroads.  Game time is 4:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 1:45 p.m.  The athletes will be excused from class at 1:10 p.m.


Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade can sign up for MRA baseball, forms are available in the elementary office.  The deadline is May 8th.


The American Legion Junior Baseball and Northern Broadcast is pleased to announce a competition for children between the ages of 7 to 14.  He or she can participate in the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run for free.  Registration starts at noon on Sunday, May 3rd at the Grand Traverse Civic Center in Traverse City.
