“WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!”  Harry bellowed, lunging for the steering wheel, but too late – CRUNCH.  With an earsplitting bang of metal on wood, they hit the thick tree trunk and dropped to the ground with a heavy jolt.  Steam was billowing out from under the crumpled hood; Hedwig was shrieking in terror; a golf-ball sized lump was throbbing on Harry’s head where he had hit the windshield; and to his right, Ron let out a low, despairing groan.  Students, please remember to fill out your guess to be entered in the drawing.

 

Science Olympiad practice is today after school until 4:30 p.m.

 

In celebration of National Breakfast Week, Bear Lake Food Service will be having lucky trays and other giveaways.

 

The 8th grade will be taking the NAEP test tomorrow.

The Varsity girl’s basketball team defeated Forest Area 60-31.  McKaya Groenwald had 18 points, 7 assists, and 8 steals, Erika Hejl had 13 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals, McKenna Fink had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals, Katie Millard had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals, Alycia Peterson had 8 points, 2 assists, and 8 steals, and Cheyenne Buckner had 2 points and 2 rebounds.

 

Tomorrow is Red and White Day.

 

The JV and Varsity boy’s basketball teams travel to Big Rapids Crossroads.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:15 p.m.

 

High School track practice will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Onekama high school gym from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m. Baseball practice starts on Monday in the Onekama middle school gym from 3:10 – 4:30 p.m. and then a team meeting until 5:15 p.m.

 

There will be a softball meeting today in the gym at 2:45 p.m.
