“WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!”  Harry bellowed, lunging for the steering wheel, but too late – CRUNCH.  With an earsplitting bang of metal on wood, they hit the thick tree trunk and dropped to the ground with a heavy jolt.  Steam was billowing out from under the crumpled hood; Hedwig was shrieking in terror; a golf-ball sized lump was throbbing on Harry’s head where he had hit the windshield; and to his right, Ron let out a low, despairing groan.  Students, please remember to fill out your guess to be entered in the drawing.


March lunch menus are available in the high school office.  National Breakfast Week is this week.  Start your school day the smart way – eat a healthy breakfast.  In celebration, during the week at breakfast Bear Lake Food Service will be having lucky trays and other giveaways.


The juniors will be taking the MME today and tomorrow.  Bells will be turned off during testing times and the Media Center will be closed.


The 8th grade will be taking the NAEP test on Friday.


Driver’s Training Segment I sign up is in the high school office.  Classes will start Monday, 6:30 p.m. at Onekama.


Laker Sports


The Varsity girl’s basketball team defeated Buckley 52-31.  Katie Millard had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals, McKaya Groenwald had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, Alycia Peterson had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, Cheyenne Buckner had 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists, and McKenna Fink had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 assists.


The JV and Varsity boy’s basketball teams travels to Lake Leelanau St. Marys.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:15 p.m.
