The Arcadia Lions Club will award two $500 scholarships to students in the Arcadia area, which includes Bear Lake.  Seniors, if you are interested in this scholarship, please stop by the high school office to fill out an application by Friday, March 23rd.


Tomorrow is Super Hero/Villain Day!  Dress like a super hero or villain.  Show us your super powers!  The homecoming dance is Saturday from 8:00 – 11:30 p.m., cost is $10/person.  Dance passes are available in the high school office if you are bringing a guest from another school.  Completed forms are due to the office by tomorrow.  The concession stand will be open for hall decorating from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  They will be serving pizza and root beer floats tomorrow for $2.


The freshmen class is taking orders for Valentine flowers through tomorrow.  Flowers will be delivered on Wednesday, February 14th.


Laker Sports


The Varsity boy’s basketball team defeated Mason County Central 70-69 in over time.  Kaiden Hejl had 31 points, 2 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists, Trey Gilbert had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists, Gary McBride had 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists, Travis Johnson had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 7 assists, and Zach Belinsky had 6 points and 8 rebounds.



The JV boy’s basketball team lost to Mason County Central 40-52.  Clark May had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Trevor Eisenlohr had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists, Tai Babinec had 8 points, 2 steals, and 3 assists, Hunter Bentley had 7 points and 4 rebounds, John Evans had 2 points and 5 rebounds, and Morgan Blattner had 2 points and 3 rebounds.


The 7th grade girl’s basketball team defeated Pentwater 39-6.  Makayla Omar had 15 points, Kylie Blattner had 10 points, Victoria Hall and Desirae Evans each had 6 points, and Amara Lopez had 2 points.


The middle school girl’s basketball team travels to Brethren.  Game time is 5:30 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:30 p.m.


The hockey team hosts Sault Ste. Marie at 7:00 p.m.


Middle School girl’s basketball and elementary boy’s basketball teams will have their pictures taken on Monday beginning at 2:15 p.m.


Ms. Leinaar is selling Bear Lake red baseball caps for $20.
