Friday is Reward Day.  One option is sewing a pillowcase.  This event costs $3 and is limited to the first 25 paid sign-ups and must sign up in the high school office by tomorrow.  Stay tuned for other options!


March lunch menus are available in the high school office.


March is Reading Month and to kick off the festivities in the elementary, today is Hat Day, tomorrow is Pajama Day and Friday is Snuggle Up with a Good Book!  Bring a blanket and pillow, along with your favorite book to school.


A rep from Jostens will be here today at 2:00 p.m. to deliver graduation supplies.


The Cooperative Drama Production of Cinderella still has positions available for stage crew, tech, and chorus.  Interested students should attend a rehearsal in the Onekama cafeteria/band room to speak with Mrs. Harthun and/or Mrs. Joseph and fill out the required paperwork.  Rehearsals are Monday – Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. this week.


The following Bear Lake/Brethren T-shirts with the American flag on them to support veterans are available at the cost of $10 with all the proceeds going to the VFW: 1 medium, 2 large, 2 XL, and 4 XXL.


Manistee Area Drivers Education will start Segment I class at Onekama on Monday, March 6th from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.  Classes will be three weeks long with 6 hours of driving.  Classes will be worked around districts.  Also, Segment II will begin on Monday, March 20th also at Onekama from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. for three days.  Call 723-6603 to register.


Laker Sports


The Varsity boys basketball team defeated Northern Michigan Christian 63-42.  Kaiden Hejl had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists, Trent Johnson had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals, Gary McBride had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, Joeb Reed had 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, Trevor Pargeon had 5 points, Trey Gilbert had 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Zach Belinsky had 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.


The JV boys basketball team lost to Northern Michigan Christian 41-42 in over time.  Reagan Merrill had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Tai Babinec had 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals, Clark May had 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, Nate King had 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists, Olav Harstad had 4 points, and Kyle Fink had 2 points and 4 rebounds.


The Varsity girls basketball team travels to Mesick to take on Onekama in the district semi-finals.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:45 p.m.


Attention Varsity volleyball players – there will be a short meeting today in the high school office at 11:55 a.m.

Elementary Volleyball Clinic starts this Friday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.


The entry deadline for the 3 on 3 basketball tournament is Friday, March 10th.  Entry fee is $100 per team.  Forms are available in the high school office.
