Bear Lake School Mandated School Closure Statement

Under Guidance from the Governor’s office there is a state mandated school closure from Monday March 16th thru Sunday April 5th.  This closure is a prevention effort and mitigation strategy to flatten the curve of the possible spread of COVID-19 and overwhelming our healthcare system.  This is an unprecedented emergency school closure that will essentially freeze all school related activities at the end of the school day today. There will not be any sports, open gyms,  or extra curricular activities. Our school building including the day care will be closed for this 3 week period. To prepare for the potential of additional mandated closure days, students will be sent home with their textbooks.  There will not be any new academic work sent home at this time, but students are encouraged to work on missing work that has already been covered in class. Student laptops will not be sent home at this time. The 3rd marking period will not end on March 22nd, and parent teacher conferences scheduled for April 4th will be rescheduled.  The expected return date is Monday, April 6th. The Bear Lake Food Pantry housed at the Methodist Church will be open on an appointment basis. Please call 864-3680 if you are in need of food assistance. We will continue to update via the school website and school Instagram page as information becomes available.
