The United States has over 3/1 million square miles of forestland, the fourth most after Canada, Brazil, and Russia? *Laker Sports* Saturday’s first game against Glen Lake was a heartbreaker for the Lakers, as they lost the lead late in an 8-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Glen Lake batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run for Glen Lake. Jake Griffis went five and 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs on five hits and striking out six. Zach Griffis threw 1/3 inning out of the bullpen. Jake Griffis and Bryce Harless each collected one hit to lead the Lakers. The Lakers fell behind early in game 2 and couldn’t come back in a 14-2 loss. Nate Sanderson was on the mound for the Lakers allowing three hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Zach Griffis and Cole Merrill entered the game as relief, each throwing one inning. Jake Griffis went 2 for 3 at the late to lead the Lakers in hits. The high school track team travels to Frankfort. Events begin at 4:15 p.m.; the bus leaves Bear Lake at 2:45 p.m. Athletes will be excused from class at 2:35 p.m. The soccer team hosts NMC.
