Attention Seniors – October is Free Application Month to Colleges or Universities. So make sure to apply today! Please check your emails for important Senior Updates. College visits this week: today – Baker College; Wednesday – Northwestern Michigan College. Visits are at 1:00 p.m. in the library for seniors and juniors. There is a Robotics meeting in the library on Wednesday during 6th hour. Did you know … Before mercury, brandy was used to fill thermometers. The first telephone book ever issued was in 1878 and contained only 50 names. Laker Sports The Varsity football team lost to MCC 0-26. The high school cross country teams ran well at Hart. The girls team finished in 5th place. Personal best times were run by Natalie Brown and Ethan Koscinski. Season’s best time was run by Sydney Bentley. The middle school cross country teams also ran great on Saturday at the Hart Invitational. The boys team finished in 4th place with Nolan Koscinski medaling, finishing 11th overall. The girls team brought the runner-up team plaque home. Melodie Hulinek, who finished in 7th place, brought home a medal. Personal best times were run by Nolan Koscinski, Ronin Peterson-Breitner, and Bailey Lutz. The Varsity volleyball team hosts Brethren and Onekama. Games begin at 5:00 p.m. The middle school volleyball team party is Thursday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Winter sports (middle school girls and boys basketball, JV and Varsity basketball, competitive cheer, and ski team) sign ups are in the high school office. Middle school boys basketball practice begins next Monday. Today’s Practices: Elem.
