The first grade class will be visiting the Bear Lake Post Office today from 12:50 – 2:30 p.m. Hallway decorating is from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. The boosters will have the concession stand open during hallway decorating. Tonight’s menu: Walking Tacos, Brownie, and Gatorade for $5. Tomorrow’s Dress Up Day is Rhyme Without Reason. Grab a partner for this one and dress as two things that rhyme. Judging will take place at 1:15 p.m. followed by skits. The dance is Saturday from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m.; cost is $10/person. Students who are bringing a guest from another school may pick up a dance pass from the high school office. Passes are due Thursday at 3:00 p.m. The freshmen class will be taking carnation orders today through Thursday during all lunches. Carnations will be sold for $2.00 each. Did you know … Andrew Jackson owned a parrot and taught it how to curse. The bird was later kicked out of the president’s funeral for swearing during the service. Elephants bury their dead. After a member of their pack dies, elephants not only cry, but they also create graves for their dead and cover their bodies with leaves. Laker Sports Congratulations to the boys ski team. They took first place at the Clare Invitational yesterday. The middle school girls basketball team lost to Baldwin 22-24 in overtime in game one. Bailey Lutz and Brynlee Ware each had 6 points, Emma Martin had 4 points, and Julia Girven, Jordynn Timmons, and Tessa Rutherford each had 2 points. The Lakers also lost the 2nd game. Melodie Hulinek had 8 points, Cassidy Brown had 6 points, and Brynlee Ware had 2 points. The Varsity girls basketball team hosts MCC.
