Top finishers for Bear Lake was Kaden Forward in 3rd and Cecilia Girlanda in 6th. The middle school cross country team competed at the first WMD League Jamboree and won the contest with a boys/girls combined score of 34 points. Bear Lake runners were led by Natalie Brown, Nolan Koscinski, Caleb Forward, and Melodie Hulinek. Cassidy Brown, Isabella card, Peyton Buckner, Sabrina Maddox, Ronin Peterson-Breitner and Lauren Pulido-Huber also contributed to the combined team victory. The middle school football team lost to Suttons Bay 22-6. The middle school and Varsity volleyball teams travel to MCE. Game time is 6:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:00 p.m. Academic eligibility begins Monday. Athletes are reminded that they must have an overall GPA of a 2.0 with no failing grades. The WMD League Fishing Club will have their first day of competition on Sunday at the boat launch in Onekama. Please arrive at 9:30 a.m. and bring your fishing gear with you; fishing will be from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Lakers – Student Season Pass sale price is $20 until September 24th, after that the cost is $25.
