Quiz Bowl is beginning practice next week. If you are interested in being part of the High School Quiz Bowl this year, let Ms. Jonson know by email or stopping by her room before or after school. Driver’s Training Segment I starts Monday, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Onekama High School. Please call Darlene Wagberg at 231-250-9779 for more information. Student drivers are reminded to turn in their vehicle registration form to Mrs. Mallison. Picture Day is Monday. Picture forms are available in the high school office. *Laker Sports* The Varsity volleyball team lost to Mesick 19-25, 25-15, 13-25, and 26-28. The team was down by 11 points in the 4th set until Abby Cross and Julie Schmidt served a combined 11 points to bring them back into the match. Kaitlynn Omar had 11 kills, Shaely Waller had 5 kills and 3 digs, Abby Cross had 3 kills and 3 aces, and Olivia Hejl had 5 aces and 19 assists. The JV volleyball team also lost to Mesick. The middle school cross country team ran well at Marion. Kaden Forward finished first the boy’s team and Mason Johnson finished 3rd for the team. Victoria Hall placed 2nd for the girl’s team while Jocelyn Teter placed 3rd, Hailee Smith placed 4th, and Sydney Bentley placed 5th. The Varsity football team travels to Marion. Game time is 7:00 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:00 p.m. The middle and high school cross country teams travel to West Shore Community College tomorrow. Running begins at 9:00 a.m.; the bus leaves at 7:00 a.m. The Athletic Department is looking for ticket takers, scoreboard operators, line judges, etc. Please see Ms. Leinaar or Ms. Mullet to add your name to the list.
