Graduation is today at 7:30 p.m. There is no school on Monday. Maggie’s in downtown Bear Lake will be hosting “Wake (up) the Lake” tomorrow on their deck from 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. The event will include music from a local band, food trucks, and a pig roast. The owners of Maggie’s are looking for 3-4 Bear Lake students to help serve the pig roast from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or when it sells out. In exchange for your work, proceeds from the pig roast will be deposited into your class account for your senior trip. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Harthun as soon as possible. The MS/HS Reward Day is Friday, May 31st. Mrs. Kennedy will be offering a painting class again this year. Cost is $5.00/person. First 30 people to sign up and pay will be able to participate. Sign up with Mrs. Mallison. Reward Day hike is to the Old Indian Trail just north of Frankfort. Those students interested will be departing at 7:30 a.m.; sign up with Mr. Prokes. *Laker Sports* The softball team split with Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s, winning the first game 5-4 and losing the second game 5-6. Shaely Waller was 3-4 with 2 stolen bases, Hayley May was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs, Alyssa Eisenlohr was 3-6, Lili Brown was 2-4, Abby Cross was 2-6 and Kalissa Swanson was 2-4 with 2 runs. The baseball team lost a double-header to Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s, dropping the first game 3-5 in extra innings and losing the second game in a mercy rule. Nate Sanderson pitched an excellent first game throwing 72% of strikes on 103 pitches allowing only 2 earned runs. Jake Griffis led the Lakers with 3 hits, while Levi Ledford had a bases loaded double for 3 RBIs. The soccer team lost to McBain Northern Michigan Christian 0-3. Middle school track practice bus will be here at 12:00 p.m. to pick up athletes. *There are no other practices today.* The middle school baseball team hosts Onekama. Game time is 5:00 p.m. The middle school softball team hosts Onekama tomorrow. Game time is 2:00 p.m. MRA is looking for baseball (t-ball, machine pitch, and Little League) umpires for the month of June.
