Please make sure you clean out your locker before you leave for the summer. Don’t forget the locker room lockers! It’s finally starting to get warm out! You know what that means – time for the dress code reminder. Students may not wear “muscle” or t-shirts with the waist cut off or shirts will the arms or parts of the body cut off. Halter-tops, see-through blouses, mesh shirts, and spaghetti straps are also not acceptable. Shirts should not expose the body torso. Students should be able to stand straight with their arms on their sides and fingertips touching the bottom of their shorts or skirt. For a full listing, please read pages 56 and 57 of the Student Handbook. The K-3rd grade Field Day is from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Second and 4th hour exams are Monday. Students will be released at 12:50 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Schedules are available in the high school office. The 4th grade will return from Mackinac Island at 9:00 p.m. The 7th and 8th grade students will return from the Vogue Theatre at 12:00 p.m. Please drop off the Prom Boutique items to the high school office by the end of the day. There is a blood drive Tuesday at the Methodist Church from 2:00 – 6:30 p.m. The Children’s Theater Workshop will be held from August 12th – 16th, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Manistee High School Auditorium for students in grades 3rd – 9th (2019-20 school year). Cost is $45 for one child; additional family members are $25. Registration forms are available in the high school office. *Laker Sports* The softball team defeated Pentwater 9-3 and 18-2. Alyssa Eisenlohr was 6-7 with a triple, a double, 4 RBIs, and 4 runs, Shaely Waller was 4-7 with a double, 2 RBIs, 5 runs, and 2 stolen bases, Abby Cross was 2-4 with 4 runs and 4 stolen bases, and Hailey Omar was 2-4 with 5 RBIs. The baseball team lost a double-header yesterday to Pentwater 1-7 and 4-12. Jake Griffis, Colin Sanderson, Levi Ledford, and Bryce Harless each had 2 hits. Colin Sanderson pitched 4 innings of the first game allowing only 2 runs and striking out 4. The soccer banquet is Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Brethren High School library.
