Students in grades 8-12 will be eligible to make and sell items in our school’s Christmas pop up shop, The Exchange, during the holiday season. To avoid duplicate items, please clear your idea with Mrs. Harthun prior to making them. The rep from Northern Michigan University will be visiting Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Don’t forget to turn in your enrollment forms and vehicle registration form to the high school office. The Bear Lake United Methodist Church is hosting a blood drive tomorrow from 2:00 – 6:30 p.m. Picture Day is Monday, September 16th. Forms will be going home with students in just a few days! *Laker Sports* The Varsity football team lost their hope opener game to Baldwin Friday 0-28 despite dominating in possession time and number of offensive plays. Dalton Myers had the Lakers in rushing yards with 128, followed by Bryce Harless with 41 and Coin Sanderson with 17. Clark May had 17 yards receiving and Dalton Myers led the defense with 8 ½ tackles. The JV volleyball team split with Baldwin 15-25 and 25-22 and lost to MCE 15-25 and 19-25 and to Ludington 23-25 and 19-25 at the Brethren Tournament. Makayla Omar had 3 kills and 12 aces, Megan Gydesen had 2 kills and 4 aces, Lydia DeLeeuw had 5 aces, and Keera Groenwald had 2 aces. The middle school volleyball teams travel to MCE. Game time is 5:30 p.m.; the bus leaves at 4:00 p.m. Sports team pictures will be taken on Thursday beginning at 2:30 p.m. Purchase your Student Athletic Pass for the reduced price of $20.
