College Visits for the week: Today – University of Michigan; tomorrow – Michigan Tech; Wednesday – College Planning (all juniors and seniors must attend this session). All visits will be held in the library at 12:00 p.m. West Shore College night is tonight from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Over thirty college and university representatives will be attending this event. The 7th grade students will return from Grace Adventures after school on Wednesday. The Jostens rep will be here Thursday to take ring and graduation orders beginning at 11:30 a.m. *Laker Sports* The Varsity football team lost to Brethren 8-66, but the nine that took the field didn’t quit. Andre Brown had 53 yards rushing and Bryce Harless added 43. Harless also connected on 23 yards passing to Brown. Fabian Aguilar led the defense with 6 ½ tackles, followed by Bryce Harless with 5 ½ including an interception, Quentin Ruiz with 5, Andre Brown with 4, and Leroy Limon with 3. The high school cross country teams ran great at Portage on Saturday. Medalists were Hunter Bentley, Jared Cook, Alex Rineer, and Bella Leffew. The Varsity volleyball team placed second in pool play at the Brethren Tournament on Saturday. The team defeated Pine River 26-24 and 25-21, split with Walkerville 25-18 and 25-27, and lost to Marion 14-25 and 20-25. They then took on Buckley in the semi-finals and lost 6-25 and 18-25. Shaely Waller had 9 kills, 10 aces, and 4 digs, Hailey Omar had 7 kills, 4 aces, and 6 digs, Zoey Sutton had 5 kills, 5 aces, and 16 assists, and Lili Brown had 5 aces and 5 digs. The middle school volleyball teams travel to Marion.
