Taylor Merrill was 2-4 and pitched 4 innings giving up 14 hits and 4 strikeouts and Kalissa Swanson was 1-1 and pitched 2 innings giving up 8 hits and 2 strikeouts. The baseball team swept Brethren in a double-header yesterday, 8-5 and 14-0. In Game 1, Jackson Cook, Bryce Harless, and Jake Griffis had two hits each while Zach Griffis had one. Jackson Cook had 4 stolen bases. Jake Griffis pitched 5 innings giving up only 1 earned run while striking out 11. Nate Sanderson shut out Brethren in the 6th. In Game 2, Zach Griffis had 3 hits, Jackson Cook and Bryce Harless with 2 each and Jake Griffis, Nate Sanderson, Tate Aultman, Jared Cook, and Javier Aguilar each contributing 1 hit each. Zach Griffis led the Lakers with 3 RBIs. Jackson Cook pitched 3 shutout innings striking out 5 and Tate Aultman finished up the last 2 innings striking out 3.
